Start Today: Basic
‘Basic’ is a book about the power of our memories and our stories; and the many ways in which they can shift and change over time.
By using a variety of personal objects and touching on universal themes, this book explores the complex relationship between memory and identity, and how our recollections of the past can both enrich and challenge our present-day understanding of ourselves and the world around us.
Through a series of explorations of visual deterioration, the pages explore various methods in which memories can be shaped and reshaped by the passage of time, as well as by our own changing perspectives and priorities.
This book is dedicated to the memory of my grandma, Lillian ‘Betty’ Wedekind.
‘Start Today’ is a series of projects where progress is the goal and procrastination is the enemy.
